Classes start at 9.30am

In-hand Section – Judge – Ms Pat Gray, Wallyford, East Lothian

 

1 – Stallion, Mare or Gelding 4 years and over

2 – Colt, Filly or Gelding 2 and 3 years old with a special to best 2-year-old

3 – Colt, Filly or Gelding Yearling

In-hand ChampionshipChampion to receive the Helen Hamilton Trophy

 

To follow In-hand Championship

Ridden Section – Judge – Ms Pat Gray, Wallyford, East Lothian

 

4 – Junior Ridden. (Mare or Gelding 4 years & over to be ridden by a rider 18 years & under)

5 – Novice Ridden 4 years and over. Any sex. (A Novice pony is one that has not been placed1st – 3rd in any OPEN mixed M&M or breed class prior to 1st Jan of the current year. Ponies must wear snaffle bridles)

6 – Open Ridden 4 years and over. Any sex

Ridden Championship – Mendick Cup to the Ridden Champion

Supreme Championship – Champion & Reserve from In-hand & Ridden to come forward for Supreme

 

Highland Pony Society Bronze Medal will be awarded to the Supreme Champion

 

Performance Section (these classes are open to ponies 4 years and over and will take place in the afternoon. The Dressage will commence at 12.30pm prompt with Intro A followed by Prelim 7 on completion of the intro section.) (ponies may enter one test either class 7 or 8)

7 – Dressage – Intro A (2008) this test is restricted to those not to have not been placed 1st – 3rd at Intro level prior to close of entries

8 – Dressage – Prelim 7 (2002)

9 – Ridden Handy Pony (Riders over 18)

10 – Junior Handy Pony (Rider 18 & under, this class is also open to non-highlands)

Border Highlands Dressage Tankard – to the best pony in class 8

Ellie Gilchrist Commemorative Trophy – to the best pony in class 9

Border Highlands Points Trophy – to the pony gaining the most points from5,6,7,8,9

Border Highlands Junior Points Trophy – to the pony gaining the most points from 4,5,6,7,8,9,10

Strathmore Feargus Trophy – to the highest placed veteran pony in the show points

Burnside Erin Tankard – to the highest placed senior rider in the show points

 

Conditions of Entry

This show is confined to Registered Highland Ponies unless otherwise stated.

Ridden Ponies must be 4 years and over.

British Standard Approved hats must be worn at all times whilst mounted.

Neither the Border Highlands, or any persons acting on its behalf, accepts liability for accidents, damage, injury or illness to ponies, owners, riders, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever in connection with this event. 

The judge’s decision is final in all classes.

The show secretary’s decision shall be final on all matters regarding the show.
